Today we went to two colleges. UCLA and USC. These two are considered to be rival schools, and they had many similarities and differences. The main difference was that UCLA is a public school and USC is private. Partly because of that, UCLA seemed to be more reluctant about giving out scholarships compared to USC. For international students, the competition to get scholarships is very high. Also for the dorms, UCLA only offered dorms for three years, and by the fourth year everybody is expected to have found somewhere to stay. The most obvious similarity would probably be the size of the universities. With around 40000 students each, they were both huge compared to the other universities we visited.
